REP. ROGERS ANNOUNCES RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN FOR STATE LEGISLATURE

Republican State Representative Dr. Glenn Rogers announced today that he will seek re-election in 2024 for Texas House District 60. Rogers Represents Parker, Palo Pinto, and Stephens Counties in the Texas State House. In the 88th Legislative Session, Rogers served as Vice Chair of the Land and Resources Management Committee, the Natural Resources and Local and Consent Calendar committees, and on the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee.

Rogers is in his second term in the Texas House. In his first term, Rogers voted to ban abortion in Texas and was a strong voice backing the successful passage of constitutional carry—a massive Second Amendment victory. This past session, Rogers helped pass the largest property tax cut in American history. He also helped to pass strong border security legislation to do the job the federal government has refused to do, and Rogers supported tough criminal penalties for fentanyl trafficking. He proudly supported banning men from participating in women’s collegiate sports and banning gender mutilation surgeries and procedures for children. In addition, Rogers continued his vocal support for legislation to improve and secure Texas’ water supply both for agricultural and human use.

“Governor Greg Abbott is doing a tremendous job fighting back against the cartels and traffickers at our southern border. And next legislative session, we can empower our law enforcement officials to do even more to address this crisis,” said Rogers.

Dr. Rogers passed critical legislation this past session that protected property owners from city overreach when it comes to land use restrictions, and he continued his push to secure local water infrastructure and water supply, especially in a time of drought. Rogers also continued to be a fierce advocate for our parents, teachers, and students in the public education system.

“Parents, teachers, and students should always be top of mind for legislators,” said Rogers. “And while I was happy that we finally delivered on our obligation to provide retired teachers with a cost-of-living increase, we have a lot more work to do this fall when it comes to demonstrating our commitment to Texas students. I look forward to the upcoming special session, and I am confident we will walk away with significant wins for Texas families.”

Dr. Rogers is no stranger to intense political campaigns, and in each of his previous election cycles, he defeated three other candidates in the Republican Primary.

“While my opponents continue to focus on fabricated, intraparty conflicts, we continue to bring results to District 60 and advance our shared, conservative values,” said Rogers. “Out-of-district interests have spent millions of dollars lying about my conservative record because they know I cannot be bought or controlled. We expect the same influx of dark money in this campaign, along with misleading messaging that is insulting to voter intelligence. Once again, the voters in Parker, Palo Pinto, and Stephens counties will prevail.”

Dr. Rogers has a long and distinguished career as a veterinarian and leader in veterinary medicine, agriculture, and civic organizations on a local, state, and national level. Dr. Rogers is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and past director, foundation chair, and President of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. Other recognitions include the Conservation Rancher of the Year Award for the State of Texas, Consultant of the Year by the Academy of Veterinary Consultants, and Distinguished Alumni by the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Rogers has served as a tenured associate professor and is listed as an author in over 40 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Rogers has been an active leader in his community and church, including prior service on the Graford School Board, as past President of the Palo Pinto County Farm Bureau, as Director of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and as President of the West Cross Timbers Veterinary Medical Association. Rogers graduated from Texas A&M University with honors, where he served as Commanding Officer of Squadron 12 and a member of the Ross Volunteers. He is an Eagle Scout.

Rogers now operates Holt River Ranch, where he develops and markets Red Angus heifers and manages several ranch-related enterprises.

Glenn and his wife, Mandy, have 4 children and 5 grandchildren
