Larry Glen Tiblets

GORDON- Larry Glen Tiblets, 69 of Gordon, first heard the angels singing Friday, June 2, 2023 after a long and hard fight with Cancer.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7th at the First United Methodist Church in Gordon with Rev. Tiffany Danna officiating.  Burial will follow next to his parents in the Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6th, 5~7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.

Larry was born May 29, 1954, in Eastland to Bill and Willie “Tootsie” (Green) Tiblets.  He lost his hearing at age 2, but attended main stream school without assistance, graduating from Gordon High School, class of 1972.

He married Christy Evans September 1, 1989 in Mingus.  He worked at Brazos Electric Co-op for 44 years. He enjoyed wood working, hunting, and camping with friends and family.  In the last few years, he discovered a love for making quilts.  He loved his children and grandkids, never step-kids to him.  He was the greatest PopPop!

He enjoyed playing dominos and cards at break at work (known for cheating) and known for pranks at work as well.  The greatest time for him was being on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy & Will Tiblets; sister-in-law, Kay Tiblets; niece, D’ane Graves; aunt and uncle, Ann & Ed Browder, aunt and uncle Tilda & Pete Huffman.

Survivors include his wife, Christy Tiblets; daughter, Trisha Otero and husband Luis; son, Justin Fulkerson and wife Lindsay; grandchildren, Marcus Otero, Marisa Otero, Holly Fulkerson, Heidi Fulkerson; brothers, James & Tavia Tiblets, Billy Tiblets, Charles & Velda Tiblets; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Gordon Community Food Pantry, PO Box 153, Gordon, Tx 76453.
