Bural Gene Chambers

Bural Gene Chambers passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 72. Bural was born February 15, 1951 to Armo and DeAlva Chambers in Dublin, Texas where he lived until 1970 when he moved to Cisco, Texas with his parents and siblings, Clifford and Dwana.

Bural started his strong work ethics at a young age of 12! He married Mickey Martin on June 26, 1971 in Cisco, Texas. In their 52 years of marriage, they celebrated the birth of three children, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Bural graduated from mortuary school in August of 1984, and moved back to Cisco, Texas to work with his family at Cisco Funeral Home. After moving back to Cisco, he became involved in the community and served on the Chamber of Commerce and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served on several different boards and organizations in different capacities in the funeral business. Bural was full of many one liner phrases such as; “welcome to the real world.”, “as the little boy says”, “don’t let them see you sweat”, and “skin grows back, paint doesn’t” all of these phrases, his childlike mischievous grin and his “shoot it to you strait” attitude will be deeply missed, but most importantly we will miss the man that became your family when you walked into his door.

In Bural’s spare time he enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, attending his grandchildren’s events, and traveling with his family. But those that knew him would have to say his favorite pastime was giving everyone a hard time. You knew if the situation warranted it, you would be laughing or maybe even crying from laughter from his antics. No matter the place or situation, he always had something funny to say.  And it didn’t matter if he had known you for .2 seconds, or for 20 years, he would treat you like family. He also knew how to be a comfort to those in need.

Bural was a devoted husband to Mickey, a devout father to Kedra, Jeff, and Beth and loving Pawpaw to Hanna, Halle, Haiden, Madelyn, and Carson.

He is survived by his wife Mickey; daughter Kedra and husband David; son Jeff and wife Emma; grandchildren, Hanna Kellar, Halle Kellar, Haiden Newton; great grandchildren Madelyn Barrera and Carson Barrera; sister, Dwana Chambers; brother, Clifford Chambers; and nephews, Chris Chambers and Coleby Chambers.

Bural is reunited with his parents, Armo and DeAlva Chambers, and daughter, Beth Chambers.  We definitely would have loved to witnessed that reunion!

Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, Texas followed by funeral service at 1 pm.

If desired memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.
