EASTLAND – Beginning Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, the Texas Department of Transportation plans to start construction on Interstate Highway 20 (I-20) in Eastland County, from State Highway 16 (SH 16) to the Erath County Line. This project will improve driver experience by replacing all pavement and reconstructing bridges at Middle Creek and South Fork Palo Pinto Creek.
Crews plan to close the outside lane of westbound I-20 near CR 494, for approximately one month, beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, for bridge deck repairs ahead of lane shifts. These lane shifts will create a workspace, in an effort to keep crews and the traveling public safe.
What to Expect
Details of lane shifts, traffic patterns and lane closures will be shared as work progresses. Lane closures and work activities will typically occur Monday to Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic delays are expected, please plan accordingly.
An estimated completion date of early 2025 is anticipated. All construction and work schedules are weather, work progress and field conditions permitting.
