Larry Helton age 82 passed from this life on February 10, 2024.
Larry was born in 1941, in Fort Benning Georgia to Frank Helton and Gussie Ruth Key Helton.
He graduated from Boonton High School in Boonton NJ where he was on the baseball team.
After graduation Larry worked for many years as a welder and in autobody repair and restoration. He married Norell Siebens in 1965, They moved from Montville New Jersey to Sherburne New York in 1977 with their daughter, and he eventually opened his own autobody shop. He became a firefighter for the North Norwich NY volunteer fire department. Larry was an Esteemed Loyal Knight with Elks Lodge #1222 in Norwich NY and a member of the New York State Norton Owners Association.
Larry later married his second wife, Marylou Sumner in 1998 Later that year they moved with her daughter and his extended family to Cisco TX, where he worked for Cisco Paint and Body then Cisco High Lift where he retired from. He was a member of Mountain Top Church for 22 years and loved his church family.
Larry leaves behind his daughters Veronica Carney. Luanne Sumner and Fiancé Roger Thackerson. Grandchildren Daniel Carney and Wife Faith, Amber Carney, and Travis Byrd. Great-Grandchildren Carter Carney and River Carney, along with various aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Sandra Helton and son-in-law Anthony Carney
A memorial service will be held at Mountain Top Church on Saturday February 24, 2024, at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at the Montville Reformed Cemetery in Montville NJ.
