Emily Stinnett

“I do not and will not fear tomorrow because I feel as though today has been enough.”

Emily was born in Lake Jackson, TX on July 14, 1999 to Tray Stinnett and Judith Anderson Summers. She attended Sweeny Christian School, where she later worked with children she so dearly loved, before graduating from Sweeny High School in 2017.

Emily loved to travel and meet new friends everywhere she went. She never met a stranger. Her adventurous spirit led her to seek out seasonal positions in Tampa, FL., West Yellowstone, MT, and finally settling in Gordon, TX. She was always excited to tell people about her travels and the love she had for life. Living each day to the fullest. Always encouraging anyone she met to step out of their comfort zone, chase their dreams big or small, and to just be themselves. Emily had an infectious smile that lit up the room, a heart bigger than Texas, and was a true friend to everyone she crossed paths with. She will be greatly missed.

Emily was preceded in death by her Pawpaw, Louis Carroll Stinnett, and grandparents, David Hardy Anderson and Judy O ‘Hern Williams.

She is survived by her Nana, Nancy Simpson; father and stepmother, Tray and Lea Stinnett; mother, Judith Anderson Summers; brother, Dalton Stinnett; sister, Kindra Haggerty; aunts, Leah Stinnett, Amanda Tuggle, Rena Burke Lopez, and Crystal Watts; cousins, Cricket Mallory, Traci Johnson, Bailey Moody, and Brandon, Megan, Preston, and Hailey Lopez; and numerous friends Emily called family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Sweeny, TX, located at 402 N. Main Street, Sweeny, TX 77480.
