Are You Ready? 14 Amendments on the November 7 Ballot

Asking a fellow Texan if they have read the Texas constitution in its entirety usually yields a hard no, perhaps because its printed form fills over two hundred pages. In the upcoming election on November 7, Texans have an opportunity to add to the constitution through popular vote. The fourteen proposed amendments cover a wide variety of things from wealth tax restrictions to allowing Galveston county to abolish the office of county treasurer.

Many will read brief descriptions of these amendments and think at face value they sound righteous. Others insist that a reading of the actual text as it will appear in the amended Texas constitution is essential before voting yes.

Tea Party Patriots of Eastland County will host a special Proposition Workshop at the Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 West I-20 in Cisco, on Tuesday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m. They will read through and discuss the actual text of every proposed amendment to better discern whether these additions are prudent and free of legal loopholes. This workshop will be led by Kyle Cramblit, West Texas Coordinator for the John Birch Society. The John Birch Society is a nonpartisan educational organization devoted to restoration of constitutional government. For more information about the organization please visit JBS.org.

Be informed. Be vigilant. Vote with confidence November 7. Join us Tuesday, October 24, for this special Proposition Workshop. Doors open at 6:00; light refreshments will be served.
