Trinity Healthcare held a ceremonial groundbreaking at The Woodlands Assisted Living / Nursing Rehabilitation in Eastland, January 24th.
Trinity Healthcare operates Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation in Eastland, and Cisco Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cisco as well as other properities throughout the state.
In 2017 Trinity Healthcare acquired The Woodlands Assisted Living. That same year they announced their plans to expand The Woodlands by adding a new skilled nursing wing to the existing facility. This will combine the operations of Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation and The Woodlands. Residents and staff of Eastland Nursing & Rehabilitation will be transferred to the new facility upon it’s completion.
Ryan Harrington, President & CEO of Trinity Healthcare welcomed the large turnout for the groundbreaking. The new addition will offer 108 beds and over 60,000 square feet to provide leading healthcare in the community. Harrington said, “People will get things here in Eastland that you can’t get in any other small town community. This facility is going to be on par with anything you’re going to see in the metroplex or Abilene.”
Speakers at the event included Chamber of Commerce board president, Leisha Elrod; Eastland Memorial Hospital CEO, Ted Matthews; and Eastland mayor, Larry Vernon. Each spoke of the increasing access to health care in Eastland and the appreciation to the individuals and groups working together to see this project through.
It is estimated construction will take twelve months to complete the project.
