Sue Melton-Malone, SBOE Dist. 14, Talks Education and the Family

Sue Melton-Malone

A new organization, Texas Family Defense Committee, invites you to a special presentation Thursday, July 30, at the Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 West I 20, Cisco. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Big Dam Room.

We’re excited to announce that Sue Melton-Malone, our District 14 representative on the State Board of Education (SBOE), joins us Thursday.

Based on her 36 years in the classroom and 7 on the SBOE, Sue will talk about the role of the SBOE, current challenges (such as rewriting Texas’ health TEKs), and her vision for serving another 4 years, if re-elected.

It is also an opportunity to ask questions and to give her our thanks for her years of looking out for the education and well-being of our children, realizing that the SBOE is an unpaid position. That takes dedication!

We’ll also have a survey to help us know how to build an effective family defense committee answering the questions, Who’ll protect the kids? Marriage? Seniors? The family?

You know the family is under assault, starting with our children – including the preborn – all the way to our elderly parents and grandparents.

Many seniors in residential facilities are suffering a strange and unthinkable isolation once reserved for the worst criminals. How can this be resolved?

We believe overcoming these issues requires our community’s combined efforts. Will you join us?
