Spring Rains Bring Tall Weeds

Recent rains have been very beneficial but may cause some properties to become noncompliant with City Ordinances requiring owners to keep weeds and grasses cut to no more than 6 inches in height on developed property or no taller than 12 inches on empty lots.

There have been several days of good weather allowing for owners to maintain their properties. Beginning Monday, May 13 the City will begin mailing Notices of Violations to owners who have not mowed by this date.
Also it is a violation of City Ordinance to blow grass clippings, leaves, etc. onto sidewalks, curbs, gutters and streets.

Failure to maintain property could result in citations being issued with fines up to $500 per day per offense.
