Roy C. Finley

EASTLAND – Roy C. Finley, age 73 years young, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 20, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Roy was born August 7, 1946 in Eastland, TX to Jessie “Willie” and Lela Mae Luttrell Finley. Though he did not complete high school Roy did go on to receive his GED. He spent 34 years working as a mechanic for Lone Star, then Ensearch before retiring.

Roy was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades, and master of all! He was a master carpenter, woodworker, and mechanic but more notably, he was a master “Southern Engineer”. He was a perfectionist. As far as his many talents, there was not a musical instrument he could not play. Roy loved Blue Grass and Old County Music and was a master of the Harmonica (French Harp).

Roy is survived by his children: son, Randall C. Finley, daughter, Denna Finley and husband Lupe Ballesteros and daughter Vickie Truran and husband Michael, grandchildren; Alicia Ballesteros, Lalo Ballesteros, Taylor Truran, Blake Truran, Shawn Truran and Leaha Finley and one great-granddaughter, Haisley Truran. He is also survived by a sister, Willie Charlene Jordan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Claudie Peel Faulk and Nadine Linebarger Pruitt.

Roy will be laid to rest on Friday, April 24, 2020 at a private family service. Due to Covid-19 regulations the family would like to honor and mention our pallbearers: grandsons, Lalo Ballesteros, Taylor Truran, Blake Truran, Shawn Truran, and dear friends, Gary Thomas, and Garlan Gourley.
