Randall Lee Lowrance – Eastland

Randall Lee Lowrance, age 57, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9 in Eastland, Texas following a lengthy illness.

Born January 25, 1952 to L.A. Lowrance, Jr. and Mary (Vinson) Lowrance, Randy grew up and attended schools in Eastland. A gifted athlete, he enjoyed baseball and rodeo and was an all-state first team football player. As the president of the Class of 1970, he maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates and enjoyed planning their reunions. He pursued rodeo through his college years at Cisco Junior College in steer wrestling, and after completing basic training in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, he served in the National Guard from 1971 to 1977. He was a past member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a lifetime member of the Eastland Masonic Lodge.

He married Kim Eberle August 13, 1988 in Breckenridge, Texas. Together they had two children, Link and Libby, and raised their family in Eastland. Randy was involved in his children’s activities and in his church, First Baptist of Eastland, where in past years he taught boys’ Sunday school classes and served on various committees. He also enjoyed team roping, hunting, and golf.

Randy’s career included many facets of the cattle and oil and gas industries. In 2000 he cofounded Link Field Services, Inc., from which he retired due to his health.

Randy loved life, loved people, and never met a stranger. Always the comedian, he had an endless supply of jokes and humorous stories that grew funnier with each telling. His outgoing personality and generous spirit allowed him to impact countless lives.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, L.A. and Sarah (Davis) Lowrance, Sr. of Eastland and William and Susie (Casey) Vinson of Ranger.

Randy is survived by his wife Kim; son Randall Link, and daughter Libby Elle of the home; his mother, Mary Lowrance of Eastland; his brother, Tony Lowrance and wife Joan of Eastland; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of friends.
