Patricia Jean Higgins of Jupiter, Florida, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and loyal friend, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband Paul on July 23rd, 2025 at the age of 65. Over the course of the past 36 years, Sweet Patricia waged a warrior’s battle with 3 separate cancer diagnoses with remarkable strength, courage, grace, and an unwavering faith in Jesus.
Always true to herself and her convictions, Patricia was defiantly COVID unvaccinated.
Patricia was a native of Ranger, Texas, the youngest child of Melba and Alvord Higgins. Texas was her home, her family, her heritage, and although she moved away from Texas, she took her trademark big Texas smile with her everywhere she went. Patricia had a passion for gardening from a young age, and after a very successful career in corporate sales she switched careers and became a Florida Master Gardener. She built a thriving business as a highly sought after landscape architect and estate gardener on Palm Beach and Jupiter Island. Every day she made the world a more beautiful place.
In addition to her husband Paul, Patricia is survived by her son Paul L. Bryan and his wife Sydney of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; her husband’s children Paul Alexander and his wife Audrey of Shenyang, China, (She adored her Pauls!); Meghan Farrelly and her husband Ciarán of Indian Trail, North Carolina; her 9 grandchildren whom she adored: Kristian, Trinity, Nathaniel, Eisele, Case, Emmet, Winnie, William and Ethan; and her great granddaughter Khlani.
Patricia is also survived by her two brothers, Michael Higgins and his wife, Jeanette, of Gatesville, Texas, and Darren Bryan of Benbrook, Texas; her sister and best friend Mary Haynes of Stephenville, Texas; sister-in-law Dr. Linda Hall Richey of Cookeville, Tennessee and many adored nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her adored big Brother Dr. David Dean Richey.
In lieu of Flowers, please consider planting a tree as a living tribute in memory of Sweet Patricia, or introduce a child to the joys of gardening. Patricia would love that.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 1st at the First Baptist Church, in her beloved hometown of Ranger, Texas where family and friends will celebrate Patricia’s magnetic life, the power of loving relationships and the fruit her kindness and love brought to so many lives.
Private interment will be in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery, Ranger, Texas, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
Patricia was a One-in-a-Million woman who lived her amazing life by the Irish Claddagh of Friendship, Love and Loyalty.
