Mamie Helen May

EASTLAND – Mamie Helen May was born March 26, 1925, to Willie Lee and Eunice Hobson Keith.  Surrounded by her family, she entered Heaven’s gates on August 26, 2019, at the age of 94. Helen attended and graduated from Carbon High School.  On June 24, 1944, she married the love of her life Paul Monroe “Teet” May in Carbon, Texas. She spent the next 68 years by his side until his death on August 26, 2012.  Helen was a homemaker and mom and loved her role raising her three children. She loved spending time with her family and working in her garden. Every year had a large vegetable garden with enough to feed the neighborhood.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland.

Helen is survived by her children, David Paul May and wife Gail of Luling, TX, Linda Gayle McIlroy and husband Ray of Electra, TX and Donna Leigh Dixon and husband Mike of Spicewood, TX, 2 brothers; Melvin Keith and Bill Keith, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.   She is preceded in death by 3 brothers; Harold, Forrest, and Carl D. Keith and 4 sisters; Wanda Black, Patsy Sue Honea, Glidden Vines and Judy Miller.

Services were held at 10am Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, TX with burial following at the Eastland Cemetery.
