Layne Halen Petree passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019. His devoted and loving parents were by his side holding his hands as he took his last breath.

Layne was born on September 9, 2007 in Abilene, Texas. He is survived by his loving parents and little sister-Joshua and Kirsten Petree and Lexi Mae Petree all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandparents Mitch and Kay Riffle, Dwayne and Shirley Dove all of Eastland, Texas, Tony Petree of Victoria, Texas and great-grand parents Roy and Joyce Dove of Haslet, Texas. Numerous loving uncles, aunts and cousins also survive him.

Layne’s sweet smile and precious giggle will be missed by all that knew and loved him. A memorial butterfly release ceremony will be held for Layne at 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Nancy Lewis Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
