It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Jayne Mae Jones, who departed this life on May 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Jayne was born on April 23, 1942, in Cisco, Texas, to William and Ida Mae (Lane) Cooke. She lived a life full of love and adventure, marrying her soulmate, Wayne Jones, on August 1, 1958, in Snyder, Texas.

Jayne’s spirit shone brightly through her deep commitment to her community and her faith. A devoted member of the First Methodist Church of Eastland, she actively contributed her time and talents to the Eastland Women’s Club, Eastland Lions Club, and especially the Eastland Child Welfare Board, where she poured her heart into helping others. Those who knew her cherished her warm smile and nurturing nature, and many will remember her passionate love for shopping—she truly could shop until she dropped!

As the owner and operator of Jay-Way Chemical and Janitorial Supply, Jayne’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident in her work, where she established lasting relationships within her community. Above all, she treasured her family. Jayne is survived by her three sons: Tracey Jones and wife, Carol, Troy Jones and his special friend, Amanda Sanders, and Terry Jones and wife, Crista. Her legacy carries on through her grandchildren, Brooke Dill and husband, Jacob, Amy Dendy and husband, Travis, Lindsey Snyder, Jayton Jones, and Cameron Maston and husband, Talon, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kayden and Reagan Dendy, Mathis and Lucy Dill, and Colson Wayne Maston. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Jayne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Jones; father, William Cooke and mother, Ida “Mae” Ward; son, Travis Jones; great-grandson, Norris Dill; brother, Billy Cooke and her sister, Delores Carpenter. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services for Jayne Mae Jones will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00am at First Methodist Church Eastland with Pastor Darrell Phillps officiating. Interment to follow at Eastland City Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00am at the church. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home – Eastland.
