An 18-year-old woman was killed Saturday night in Eastland and her ex-boyfriend was arrested for her murder. A press release from the Eastland County Sheriff’s Department gave the following information:
Shortly after 8:18 p.m. on June 13, 2020, Eastland Police Department and Eastland County Sheriff’s Office units were dispatched to a residence at 801 East Virginia in Eastland in reference to a shooting. On arrival, a male subject came to the front door and said he was sorry and would comply with everything. The male subject was identified as Sean Casey Simington, W/M age 21 of 801 East Virginia, Eastland, Texas. He was taken into custody without incident. On entering the residence, Sean’s mother was located and she stated that Sean’s girlfriend was in the kitchen. The girlfriend was laying on the floor and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds. There were no signs of life. Maynard was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Jon Glenn at approximately 10:46 p.m. The body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners for autopsy. Sean was arrested and placed in the Eastland County Jail at approximately 12:43 a.m. on June 14, 2020, where he was charged with Murder. His bond was set by Justice of the Peace Jesse Speers at $1,500,000.00. The investigation is being headed by Sheriff’s Office investigators and the Texas Rangers.
