Eastland County COVID-19 Update, May 9, 2020

Eastland County, we continue to have results from testing return negative. We still have several tests pending. On Monday, the National Guard will be back in Eastland to perform testing again. The more we can test, the better we are able to evaluate any surge in COVID-19 illness in this county. This assists in continuing to open businesses, making plans for graduation and other pending events for all communities in the county.

It is still recommended that we continue to practice social distancing, hand washing and wearing a face mask. Unfortunately I noticed on a recent trip to the store that all the employees were wearing masks as recommended, only 3 customers were doing the same. Everyone was keeping their distance as well as avoiding close contact but the lack of wearing masks during the reopening of the state of Texas can spike cases. It is vital that we follow the recommendations from the department of health.

Thanks to all who have stayed secure at home, avoided traveling and performing hand hygiene frequently. This has made a significant difference in curbing the spread in the county. As always, be kind, well and safe.

TOTAL CASES: 1,274,036 25,996 New Cases*

TOTAL DEATHS: 77,034 1,557 New Deaths*

Ok, Print Deaths but why don’t you also print Recovery PRECENT! which is like 98 + Percent?
