Eastland County COVID-19 Update, July 15, 2020

We have more eight new confirmed cases in the past two days. Six of these are from one exposure group and two from another. All are quarantined and are still symptomatic. This brings our total to 38 positive confirmed cases. We have 11 active cases still showing symptoms. Most of these are very mild cases, but still remain quarantined.

We continue to test those who are symptomatic. If you have had contact with someone who is ill, has had fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, loss of taste or smell, muscle aches or any other respiratory symptoms, please self- quarantine. If you have symptoms, please call your doctor or healthcare provider. Having a COVID test done too early may result in a false negative. This means you may still be infected but the virus has not had enough time to replicate its RNA to have adequate numbers of particles to confirm the diagnosis. So please, ask your healthcare provider when you should be tested.
