Eastland County COVID-19 Update

June 29, 2020

Eastland County continues to receive results on COVID-19 testing daily but multiple tests are still pending. We have one more reported positive case of COVID-19 this morning. Our count is now 11 confirmed cases of the virus since March. This patient is currently in isolation and receiving treatment. We are hopeful that by the fall we will access to a point of care test for COVID. That would be an antigen test that could be performed in the clinic with results in 15 minutes.

Science minute: Many people still have concerns about wearing masks in public. There are certainly many postings on the internet about safety and efficiency of masks. Below are links to reputable websites with information and highly recommended guidelines.

I ask you to take time to review as well as remember, we all must do what we can to stop this spread. Businesses are counting on us to do our part. Please continue to wear your masks while in public, keep your distance and wash your hands often to protect others within our community.

It would be helpful to the community to know where these people are coming in contact with the virus . Are they traveling outside the county and who have they exposed .
