Eastland City Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

The City of Eastland released the following information on their Facebook page Saturday:

The City Hall Lobby will be closed the week of July 6-10 due to circumstances beyond our control. Payments may be placed in the drop box by the front door. Please place only checks or money orders in the drop box. Credit card payments may be made by phone at 629-8321. Also call this number for any other needs such as establishing new service. Please be patient and call back if your call isn’t answered right away. We will be short staffed all week.

Eastland Municipal Court will be closed for the week. Phone payments for tickets can be taken at the above number. You may leave voice mail for the court clerk at 254-629-8227. Your calls will be returned when the court re-opens.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Test results from one city employee have come back positive for COVID-19. In an effort to protect the public, City Hall is closing their public lobby area July 6th through the 10th and using the above methods to protect the public and still offer city services. The city will be working with a scaled down workforce until test results come back on those employees who may have come into contact with the infected employee.

Eastland County has opted out of Governor Abbott’s face-covering requirements because we have 20 or fewer cases. Currently Eastland County has three active cases. It is, however, highly recommended by the State for everyone, who is able, to wear face coverings. Everyone should be distancing and washing/sanitizing their hands often.
