We had a good turnout for the September Chamber Mixer at Encompass Health Care yesterday afternoon. The event was hosted by Ron Pipkin, Manager of the Eastland office, with lots of help from his staff.
Chamber members had the opportunity to visit with other members and to discuss business and social matters, and to enjoy the refreshments and snacks provided by our host. Each business represented at the mixer put a business card in a bucket for drawings, and at the conclusion of the Mixer, Farmers and Merchants Bank, represented by President Mark Harris, was selected as Business of the Month for October. Sam Williams of Big S Company won two tickets to the Majestic Theater, as did Becky McCrary of Eastland County Newspapers.
The Business of the Month will be featured on the home page of the Eastland Chamber of Commerce website, on the Chamber’s Facebook page, and in local media. Each business that is honored as Business of the Month in 2012 will be eligible to be selected as Eastland’s Business of the Year at our annual membership meeting in October.
The Chamber Mixer for October will be at KATX Radio at their new location on West Commerce Street on Monday, October 1st at 5:00 PM. The November Mixer will be hosted by Girling Health Care at 405 E. Commerce on November 5th.
We will be having a ribbon cutting at I-20 Bail Bond’s new location at 10:30 AM on September 18th… that’s next Tuesday, so be sure to make plans to be there to welcome Dale and Sue Bakker back to the Chamber and to help bring awareness of their new location at 210 W. Main, just across the street from the Connellee Hotel. See you there!
