Donald “Don” Peyton Griffith, 69, of Cisco passed away at his home March 8, 2012. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 PM with Reverend Paul Howie and Brother David McCullough officiating at the Leon Riever Cowboy Church under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Griffith Cemetery. Visitation will be 5~7:00 PM Sunday at the Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel.
Don was born December 2, 1942, to David Peyton and Dola Isabelle (Sanders) Griffith in Arlington, Texas. The family moved to Anson where he attended school. He earned an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement and was a Deputy Sheriff in Eastland County at the time of his death.
Don and Patsy Gail Stanley were married December 16, 1961, in Leveland, Texas. They were blessed with two sons, Larry Don Griffith and David Travis Griffith & wife, Jamie, of Cisco; two daughters, Tammy Gail Berrier of Kokomo, TX and Teresa Ann Garrett of Cisco; two sisters, Juanita Faye McCullough and Carol Sue Skidmore and husband, Skip, of Breckenridge; ten grandchildren, Tiffany Gail Smoot, Tasha DeAnn Berrier, Matthew Don
Hollis, Kimberli Gail Garrett, Rachel Griffith, Kayla Danail Berrier, Cody Travis Griffith, David Peyton Griffith II, Levi Dean Garrett, Britney Dawn Griffith; twelve great-grandchildren, Felicity Gayle Berrier, Kaydence Layne Smoot, Alannah Angel Berrier Fayth Ski Paige, Rylan Ivan Hernandez, Payton Hope Boyd, Kambria Layne Smoot, Zayden Lee Berrier, Chloe Kaylynn Jacoby, Colson Warren Boyd, Sydney Griffith, and Tristan Scott Hollis.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Griffith and two sisters, Betty Joyce Johnson and Jessie Hodges.
