Don Jobe passed away Friday September 18, 2020 from multiple ailments. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at Chambers Funeral Home in Cisco, 5~7 pm. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10 am at the Scranton Cemetery.
He was born on April 21,1936 to Vernon and Ruby Rutherford Jobe in Scranton, Texas. He was raised in Abilene until the death of his mother Ruby from Spinal Meningitis. Don and his twin brother Dan where then adopted at the age of five by their aunt and uncle Bill and Neelie Clinton from Scranton Texas. He attended school in Scranton as a proud Antelope. After graduation, he taught school for a time until being drafted for two years for the Korean War, where he served in the Sixth Army in field artillery. He then served in the DPS as a State Trooper in the late 60’s until 1970. He then returned to teaching middle school in Cross Plains, Texas. After teaching school, he worked as a ranch hand for Dr Casey in Albany Texas until 1975. After obtaining a job as a security manager, he moved to Carrollton, Texas, where he worked for Otis Engineering. Don was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Don was preceded in death by his brother Dan Jobe, his parents Bill and Neelie Clinton, sister Rosa Lee and brothers Dalworth and Laverne.
Don is survived by his wife Geri, sons Bryan and Matthew, step son Brian Matson, step daughter Ohndrea Tags and husband, Will, niece Michelle Johnson, nephew Chris Jobe, great niece Jessica Johnson, great nephew Tyler Jobe , and great great niece Katelyn and great great nephews Brayden and Ryder.
