Do You Think Massage Therapy Is Just For Relaxation? Think Again!

~ by Tracy Plum

It was a festive atmosphere at the Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Daniel Doyle LMT at 1008 W. Main Street in Eastland. But while the room was abuzz with how beautiful and relaxing the interior of the newly renovated building is, Daniel was busy treating attendees to Chair Massages, giving them a sneak preview of one of the many services he offers.

While most people do think of getting a massage as a relaxing rub down on a table in a dim candlelit room, it can be so much more than that! Daniel is experienced in a number of different modalities and although he excels at the relaxing Swedish Massage, Sports Massage is actually his forte.
Sports Therapy enhances your performance and can even prolong your sports career by reducing pain and swelling, increasing flexibility, and improving joint mobility. It improves sleep quality, and not only provides physical relaxation but mental relaxation as well. Sports Therapy is highly effective in helping your muscles heal faster by promoting the body’s natural immune function.

Daniel is also proficient in; Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Pregnancy Massage, Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Drainage, Structural Integration, Chair Massage, Cupping Therapy, and Aromatherapy.

Kara has had five spine surgeries, and says “One of his areas of expertise is working on people with severely injured spines and the fascia problems, muscle spasms and nerve damage that come with it. He is truly a miracle worker. After days of not being able to sleep from agonizing neck pain, one 90 min session of deep tissue was the fix. He has all the tips, tricks and knowledge to work on someone not just in need of relaxing.”
Daniel’s favorite thing about being a massage therapist is being able to help people feel good and alleviate their pain. “When a client tells me they haven’t felt this good in years, it makes me feel good to help somebody get out of pain,” he said. “I genuinely care for the health and wellbeing of my patients.”

It’s important to him that his clients get the therapy they need, so you don’t need to choose from just one modality. Daniel will tailor the Massage to your individual needs, and the techniques will be used interchangeably throughout your session. It’s important to note that you might have pain in one area, but the root cause of the pain could be in a completely different area. 90% of the time what’s hurting is not where the pain is coming from.
Hot Stones are one technique that may be added to other modalities to help release the tension and stress in your muscles much more deeply and quicker. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating and as an added benefit it will help you recover quicker the next day, so you’re not as sore from a deep massage.

Essential Oils are an add-on that will definitely heighten your massage experience. Only top quality 100% Certified Therapeutic and Dietary Grade Essential oils are used. Daniel will customize your Aromatherapy, keeping your personal goals in mind, to elevate your massage to the next level. DoTerra essential oils are sourced world-wide from their native countries and are made from God sent plants that can miraculously help increase lymphatic drainage, balance hormones, improve circulation and of course relax or invigorate.

Daniel graduated from Texas Center for Massage Therapy in Richardson TX in March of 2015, with 400 more clock hours than the state requires. Since graduating he has worked in the Dallas Metroplex at retail massage Spas, high-end Fitness Clubs, Chiropractic and Wellness Centers as well as the mobile massage companies Soothe.com and Zeel.com. He is constantly learning new techniques and loves taking continuing education hands-on courses.

Born in Eastland, he moved away at a young age but always had family here to come back to. A visit last October convinced him to stay and set up shop, and we’re lucky to have him! Daniel enjoys having his family here to support him and says they were instrumental in helping him get his business off the ground. He’s excited to start his practice here in Eastland and it’s off to a good start, with some clients traveling as far as 40-50 miles for a therapy session.
