Effective with utility bills to be mailed out on June 28, utility customers may notice a change in the Gallons Used category. Previously, water bills would show a number of gallons used and customers would add two zeros to calculate the actual usage. Usage was being calculated in 100s. Example: 23 used = 2,300 actual gallons used.
Bills received after June 28 customer usage will be reported in actual 1,000 gallons of usage. Example: 23 used = 23,000 actual usage. 2 used = 2,000 actual usage. Bills showing a 0 used means the customer used less than 1,000 gallons during the month.
This change has been made to streamline reporting and accounting.
