It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aurelio Alanis, who departed this life too soon on January 11, 2026, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, at the age of 42. Aurelio was born on March 15, 1983, in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Manuel Alanis and Catalina Sanchez-Alanis. 

Aurelio was a father, son, brother, and friend. He worked as a lineman for 14 years, a career he was deeply proud of and dedicated to. Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, Aurelio was admired by his colleagues and community alike. 

Beyond his work, Aurelio found joy in the simple yet meaningful moments of life. He loved spending time with his family, singing and dancing, and sharing laughter with those around him. His warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. 

Aurelio is survived by his loving parents, Manuel and Catalina Alanis; his sons, Humberto and Jose Alanis; and his siblings, Valentin, Juan, Samuel, and Maria Alanis. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Raquel Alanis, uncle, Hilario Sanchez, nephew, Angel Alanis, and his paternal grandparents, Epifanio and Aurelia Alanis, as well as his maternal grandparents, Leonardo and Antonia Sanchez. 

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation services on January 19th and 20th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service honoring Aurelio’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 21st at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Ranger, Texas, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger. 

Aurelio’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and family devotion. His memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

May he rest in eternal peace.
