EMH CEO Resigns

Eastland Memorial Hospital Board of Directors sends out the following press release concerning the resignation of Ted Matthews as CEO:

As many of you know, Ted Matthews has resigned as CEO of Eastland Memorial Hospital. As Ted has stated, “now is the time to think critically toward the hospital’s ensuing years and find one who can lead the hospital in a direction that will meet the evolving healthcare needs of our community.” In that regard, Ted has agreed to stay on and continue in his position until a replacement has been found. He has also offered to assist in the transition. We greatly appreciate his willingness to assure continued care of our staff and patients during this transition.

We appreciate the work Ted has done to position the hospital for this transition as well as his dedicated work serving the hospital for the past 11 years. During this time, the hospital has expanded services, constructed new facilities, developed and enhanced programs and acquired new equipment, as well as recruited physicians and staff. He has been a dedicated member of the Eastland community and has worked tirelessly to improve our hospital on a local, regional and State basis.

The Board of Directors have unanimously agreed to move forward to find the best qualified Chief Executive Officer to lead Eastland Memorial Hospital. We look forward to this transition and will work diligently on your behalf. Interested candidates may contact Amy Williams at amy.williams@emhd.org for more information
