The Eastland County Museum will be one of the featured stops in an episode of American Pickers to air Monday, June 7th at 9 p.m. on the History Channel. The episode “Big Tex; Hollywood in Texas” begins at 8 p.m. The Eastland County Museum segment will be on at 9 p.m.
Host Mike Wolfe and his brother Robbie Wolfe brought their production crew to Eastland last December to give the Eastland County Museum some national exposure. American Pickers does not pick open, active museums, but Mike’s love of these small museums and understanding of the financial strains they face led him to help out by sharing a little of his national spotlight with them.
The goal of the museum was to liquidate some of the items they had multiples of that weren’t historic to Eastland County. According to the Eastland County Museum Facebook Page, there was one item they came across during the pick that was estimated to be valued at several thousand dollars. Through the Rowes, a connection was made between the museum and an interested Texas collector just a couple of hours away.
