On Monday 02/08/2021 The Eastland County Commissioners Court met and approved Sheriff Chad Roberts to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Center for Life Resources to transition the Mental Health Deputy position from the three cities of Cisco, Eastland, and Ranger to the Sheriff’s Office to serve the entire communities of Eastland County. The MHD position starts March 1.
The Mental Health Deputy is made available in part with grant funds through Center for Life Resources from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
This MHD position is a commissioned peace officer and is designed to bridge the gap between law enforcement and mental health professionals. The MHD will assist Center for Life Staff and other law enforcement agencies throughout the county focusing on being proactive to mental health crisis.
There is a continuous growing need for mental health professionals not only in Eastland County, but nationwide and the Sheriff’s Office is committed to getting our citizens the help they need.
I think this is wonderful….well needed
