EVENT CANCELLED due to worsening weather and road conditions.

Tea Party Patriots welcomes Wes Virdell of Brady to the beautiful Myrtle Wilks Community Center in Cisco at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 11. Wes is the Texas Hill Country Regional Coordinator for Gun Owners of America.

With the 87th Texas Legislature in session, committee hearings could begin as soon as Thursday, February 11. Constitutional carry and a host of related bills, both pro- and anti-gun, have been filed in both the House and Senate. Wes stands ready to provide updates on those, explain how citizens can be involved, and how to stay informed as gun-related bills move through both chambers. Federal actions are another area of intense scrutiny for Gun Owners of America.

Wes Virdell has devoted his life in service to others. As an Air Force veteran, small business owner, husband, and father, Wes strives to put others before himself every single day. That motivated his run in 2020 for District 11 US Congressman, vowing to work tirelessly to represent Central and West Texas values in Washington, and to embody government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Wes’ lean campaign gained a wide following but ended with a loss in the March primary.

Regarding the Second Amendment Wes says, “I’m 100% against any form of gun control. The Second Amendment is a restriction on the federal government and not a restriction on the citizen. We need to make sure every elected representative understands this. If you give the government one inch, they will take a mile.”

Wes was born and raised in the heart of Texas. He grew up working in his family’s diesel repair business in Brady, Texas, where he learned what hard work looks like and what it means to help others. He later answered the call to serve his country in the US Air Force, working on Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and as a Military Training Leader. After being honorably discharged, Wes returned home to work as a diesel mechanic alongside his family while also becoming the owner of a small trucking company. In 2002, Wes married his beautiful wife, Sara, who is also native to Brady and is a talented photographer. Together they have three boys, Van Р15, Madden Р13, and Kingston Р9. They also had a daughter, Dylan, who watches over the family from heaven. After Wes and Sara lost Dylan at 22 weeks pregnant in 2009, a water well was built in Uganda in 2011 in her honor by the John 4:14 Foundation.

The Virdells are active members of their community and their church. Wes is proud to be a Texan and he is proud to continue serving his life for Texans.

Bring a friend, and join us Thursday, February 11, in the Big Dam Room of the Myrtle Wilks Community Center. Doors open at 6:00; program begins at 6:30 p.m.
