Mary Lou Frost Perkins of Eastland

Mary Lou Frost Perkins, 94, of Eastland, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2011 in Eastland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Lampert officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 until 8:00 P.M.

Mary Lou Dawson was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on November 6, 1916 and was soon taken by her parents to Maryland where her father enlisted in the US Army and attended officers training before going overseas in WWI. After the war the family made their home in Texarkana, Arkansas, where Mary Lou graduated from high school prior to attending the University of Texas at Austin. It was there that she met and later married Jack W. Frost. After the death of her husband, Jack, she married Robert G. Perkins in 1997. She spent 76 years in Eastland where she was active in choir and club work. She was a resident of Lake Leon.

She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Perkins; his daughters, Sally Arnold, Mary Spradling and Emily Karlak. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
