Pedestrian Killed by Train

The Eastland Police Department report that at approximately midnight, Monday night, January 8th at the Highway 3101 crossing in Eastland a train struck and killed a pedestrian.

At approximately 12:08 am the Eastland Fire Department was paged to an accident involving a train and a pedestrian. Eastland Police Department responded as well. On arrival first responders located the body of an unidentified male. Justice of the Peace D.J. Walker was called and conducted an inquest at the scene. The victim’s body was transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. At this time the victim has not been identified. The Eastland Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Updated January 10, 2018:  The victim of the train incident was a 14-year-old male student at Eastland High School.
