On Monday the City of Ranger Fire & EMS was excited to take delivery of a new 2017 ambulance. This new ambulance was paid for with a 100% grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services Governor’s Extraordinary Emergency Fund.
Several months ago Matt Fox a firefighter/EMT for the Ranger Fire Department started exploring options to replace the existing ambulance that was over 22 years old and in near poor condition. Matt found a grant application with TDSHS and applied. He solicited the help of several local constituents such as State Representative District 60 Mike Lang, Eastland County Judge Rex Fields, Texas Emergency Management Coordinator Greg Goettsch, EMS Medical Director Dr William Simpson, TDSHS EMS Specialist Gary Griffith and Ranger City Manager Chad Roberts. These individuals helped in support of Ranger obtaining the grant.
Fire Chief Darrell Fox is very proud of the new apparatus to the department and for all the hard work of the dedicated individuals that participated in this exciting time for Ranger.
