The Eastland County District Attorney is studying an investigation into an alleged rape at a high school football game.
An Eastland High student alleges she was raped at the this year’s homecoming game. She said she was taking a new prescription drug and started to feel drowsy. She said some boys she knew, and trusted, who were also at the game took her to their truck to lie down. That’s when things took a turn for the worse.
“They kind of pulled me to a truck because I was tired. I started falling asleep and I don’t remember much. I just remember waking up and my pants were undone, and he told me he did stuff to me and didn’t want my parents to know,” she said.
She said she didn’t tell her parents immediately because she didn’t know how. When she finally did come forward she said everything changed.
“We can’t even go anywhere, because he’s always somewhere that we are and I’m scared that something else is going to happen,” she said.
She said the harassment at school got so bad she had to drop out of schooll, which leaves her in jeopardy of losing her credits for the semester.
“I’ve never failed a class, and I don’t want to have to.”
Eastland High Principal Joel Lawson said they are willing to work with her, and her family, to get her back in classes.
“We’re willing to do whatever we need to make her feel safe and back in school,” said Lawson.
The girl said all attempts have been unsuccessful, and is scared to leave her house.
“I just want to see him get punished for what he did,” she said.
She said these alleged events have changed her life forever.
Eastland County DA said it won’t comment on juvenile matters, but confirmed an investigation is pending.
