The Eastland County Clerk’s office was awarded the Five Star Vital Registration Award for 2017 by the Texas Department of Health, State Health Services Vital Statistics Unit.
The criteria for qualifications of this award include completing a self assessment survey, timeliness and accuracy of filing registrations of birth records, marriage and death registrations throughout the year, and attending training.
County Clerk, Cathy Jentho said the clerk’s office currently is able to get short form birth certificates for anyone born in the state of Texas. Coming within the next year and a half will be the ability to get the long form birth certificate that is required for passports.
Jentho gave credit for receiving the award to her staff, Gay Burnett, Jodi Wilson, Donna Robertson and Raena St. Peter.
