When Cisco’s mayor, James King, resigned in order to run for county judge, a special election was needed to select a new mayor. Tammy Douglas was the only candidate to file for mayor, therefore that election was canceled. Douglas had previously filled the Place V seat on the city council which she gave up in order to run for mayor. She had also been the mayor pro-tem. A special election was held on January 30th to fill the Place V unexpired term. Stephen Forester received 87 votes and Erik Pederson, Sr. received 13 votes in that special election. In a called meeting, Monday, February 5th, Tammy Douglas was sworn in as Cisco’s new mayor and Stephen Forester was sworn in as the new Place V councilman.
A new mayor pro-tem will be selected at the regular meeting Monday, February 12th.
