Cisco Building Demolished by Fire

According to the Cisco Fire Chief, Walter Fairbanks, the fire department was dispatched at 6:22 a.m. Friday morning, October 27th to a commercial building fire in the 200 block of West 8th Street.

Chief Fairbanks released the following information about the fire:

Upon arrival of the first Engine, it was discovered that there was fire in the roof of the building. When an adequate amount of manpower was on scene there was a quick interior attack. The fire was brought under control quickly however due to hidden fire in the ceiling the building had to be demolished. There were no injuries reported. 15 firefighters on scene. Cisco Fire, Eastland Fire, Cisco Police and Eastland Hospital EMS responded. Work crews from the City Of Cisco also provided heavy equipment and manpower during the overhaul process. After an investigation, it was determined that the wind blew some of the tin roofing lose into the electrical lines energizing the roof.
