		<description><![CDATA[EASTLAND – Faithie D. Hollander, age 75, of Eastland, passed away January 24, 2012.]]></description>

Hollander, age 75, of Eastland, passed away January 24, 2012.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 10<sup>th</sup> at 3:30 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco. Cremation arrangements were handled by Summers-Bakker Funeral Home.</p>
<p>Faithie D. Hollander was born in Cisco, Texas to William F. Hollander and Faithie C. (Holloway) Hollander on January 13, 1937. She was a lifelong resident of Eastland County. Faithie loved crocheting and anything that had to do with Christmas. She was very outgoing and social and loved God, attending church and singing. Faithie was very family oriented and she and her older sister Lotha were inseparable.</p>
<p>Faithie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother.</p>
<p>She is survived by sister, Lotha Hollander.</p>
<p>Faithie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.</p>

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7<sup>th</sup> at 2:00 pm at Summers-Bakker Funeral Chapel in Eastland. Burial will follow at Eastland City Cemetery with Duane Clower officiating. Visitation is Monday from 6:00-7:00 at the funeral home.</p>
<p>Oma Lee Carlton was born on March 19, 1928 to Jim and Ella Mae Hogan in Carbon, Texas. She was married to Bill Carlton in 1965. She enjoyed dominos and canasta and bridge.</p>
<p>She is survived by her daughters Linda Taylor, Kay Warren, Barbara Fields and husband Joe, and son Larry Thackerson; her step-children Billy Carlton and Brenda Carlton Arther; daughter-in-law Johnnie Thackerson; her sisters, Jimmie Kinard, JoAnn Hull and husband John, and brother Caroll Hogan and wife Leta; and nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Carlton, brothers Bob Hogan, Lynn Hogan and sister Shirley Morgan. Son-in-law Tim Warren and granddaughter Melissa Warren.</p>

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1st at 2:00 pm at Daugherty Street Church of Christ in Eastland with Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Flatwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 at the Summers-Bakker Funeral Home.</p>
<p>Betty Mae Bond was born in Eastland County, Texas to Travis Bond and Gladys Palmer Bond on October 16, 1940. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1959. On May 16, 1959 she married John M. Kidd in Flatwood. He preceded her in death in 2008. Betty worked for several years at Eastland Healthcare as a business manager. She was also a homemaker.</p>
<p>Betty volunteered as an adult leader for the Eastland County 4H for many years. She also taught Sunday School and was a very active member of the Daugherty Street Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family and gardening and enjoyed playing Keeno with her friends.</p>
<p>Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, James Charles Rodriguez, Jr.; four brothers and one sister.</p>
<p>She is survived by one son, John Glenn Kidd and Danna Casey of Eastland ; three daughters, Sherry Whiteside and husband Jeffrey of Sipe Springs, TX, Brenda Kidd of Eastland, Shirley Dove and husband Dwayne of Eastland; and son-in-law, James Charles Rodriguez of Albany; ten grandchildren, Jack Whiteside, John Whiteside, Heidee Lail and husband Sean, Justin Rodriguez, Kirsten Petree and husband Joshua, Dustin Dove, Caleb Dove, Bonny Mae Dove, T.J. Kidd and Trent Casey; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan, Hanna, Ethan and Emma Lail, Layne and Lexi Mae Petree and Brennan Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Memorials in Betty’s name may be sent to Flatwood Cemetery Association.</p>

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Daugherty St. Church of Christ with Larry Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m.</p>
<p>She was born on October 18, 1917 in Carbon to Clyde Sanders and Dora Bell (Warren) Campbell.  She attended Carbon schools graduating from Carbon High School in 1935.  She married her high school sweetheart, Norris Shirey, on December 26, 1939. After living in Eastland for 3 years they moved to Clifton, Arizona where they lived for nearly 38 years, before moving back to Eastland in 1979.</p>
<p>She worked for several retail businesses as well as a jewelry store in Clifton, AZ for 17 years.  She enjoyed cooking and baking from scratch, especially angel food cakes, divinity candy and sour dough rolls.  She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and growing flowers.  She had volunteered for nursing homes, three hospitals for 25 years, and many community causes including catering for the Carbon Community Center for 8 years.  She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Home Demonstration Club.  She was baptized into the Church of Christ in the gin tank in Carbon, TX.  She enjoyed church work and had taught Sunday School classes for 52 years.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris in 1987, parents; 2 brothers, Blake Edward Campbell and Bernard Campbell; 1 sister, Bonnie Ruth Pierce; 1 niece, Glenna Ruth Warren</p>
<p>Survivors include 2 nieces, Brenda &amp; Don Lane of Cisco and Bernadine &amp; Richard Donovan of Herndon, VA; a  nephew, Clinton Pierce;  as well as lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.</p>

<p>Billie Joe Carlton was born on May 19, 1928 to Joe and Myrtle (Daugherty) Carlton in Eastland County, Texas. He married Betty Jo Byrd and they were blessed with two children, Billy and Brenda. In 1965 Bill married Oma Lee Hogan. He was a mechanic and enjoyed hunting, fishing and making knives. He was a member of the masonic lodge and the NRA.</p>
<p>Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Margie Carlton Morrison.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife of over forty six years, Oma Lee Carlton; his son, Billy Carlton and his wife Sharon; his daughter, Brenda Carlton Arther; his step-children, Linda Taylor, Kay Warren, Larry Thackerson, Barbara Fields and her husband Joe; his brother, Bob Carlton and his wife Rosetta; and nineteen grandchildren,  fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Memorials in Bill’s name may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.</p>
