You are invited to a brown-bag-lunch prayer time at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall to pray for our youth.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2ND
12:00 NOON

You are invited to a brown-bag-lunch prayer time at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall to pray for our youth.

A short time ago, Eastland County tweens and teens suffered several suicides/suicide attempts.

Pastor Jim Wright felt lead to put together this time concerning our youth. We have been praying together each month since then.

With the summer break from school, this situation improved. Soon our children will return to school, renewing acquaintances, etc.

We are praying for their safety, mentally and physically; praying about the spiritual warfare that has been upon the youth of this county and surrounding counties.

We talk, we eat, and we pray. Some bring lunch – some don’t. Come if you can and if you are unable, pray where you are.

First Christian Church Fellowship Hall is located at 215 S. Lamar in Eastland.

God bless the young citizens of Eastland County.

After the fires that scared all of us, our local towns, Mingus, Gordon and Strawn have really come together in fellowship. There have been several fund raisers for the fire departments with great success.

The churches are working together to help provide for the local area through the Community Ministry Network. At their latest meeting they discussed helping to provide school supplies for all the children that attend Gordon and Strawn.

The Resting Place in Mingus has started a kids game night, that thanks to the lady that runs this site, it is now named MICROPLEX Kids Game Night. There has been great attendance by both the kids and the parents to this event held every Thursday.

The Gordon First Baptist Church had their VBS last week and it went very well with many attending. The Strawn First Baptist will be having their VBS the week of July 18th to 22nd and I am betting that it will be a big success. I do not know of other churches that are having VBS but I will post on the comments here as soon as I find out.

I would like to send a very big thank you to Julie and this website for keeping us all posted, on the bad, as well as the good news. Be sure and check the “MY TOWN” section to see what is happening locally.

I see God working through our people in our little Microplex to help each other and to bring smiles to all. I pray it continues to work like it is right now.

Andy
