Bryans Car Show – It Just Keeps Getting Better

EASTLAND – It was the 25th year for Bryans “Old Rip” Car Show, and what an outstanding event it was!

Twenty-five years ago there were approximately 20 cars entered taking up both sides of one block during Eastland’s annual Old Rip Festival.  This year the event had grown to over 150 rides consisting of automobiles and motorcycles  filling up one block-long parking lot and spilling over onto three street sections.

Tim Jenkins - People's Choice Award

There was no registration fee required for the car show.  Everyone received an award simply for showing up.  Each participant also received a burger from the grill and a goody bag. Participants were heard to say it was one of the most fun car shows around.

The Old Rip crowd was encouraged to vote for the People’s Choice award.  This year the recipient of that award was Tim Jenkins from Strawn, Tx.   He was then presented with the Worlds Biggest Car Show Award.

The Tony Stewart Nascar and Mobil 1 Nascar race simulator booth was a hit with the young and old alike.  Exit 343 added the musical entertainment and the day couldn’t have been complete without Bryans National Dog Show featuring anyone with a dog they felt a hankering to show off.
